Client: The Royal Parks
Service: Enhancing a Renowned Woodland Feature

Loughman was appointed by The Royal Parks to carry out the essential renovation of the Bog Garden within the celebrated Isabella Plantation in Richmond Park. This project focused on significant infrastructure updates to maintain the garden’s unique charm while substantially improving its functionality and visitor experience.

Our scope of works included the crucial resurfacing of existing paths, ensuring enhanced accessibility while meticulously preserving the garden’s natural aesthetic. A key element involved the replacement of the iconic solid timber boardwalk, vital for both safety and long-term durability. Further enhancements delivered by Loughman comprised the renewal of worn stepping-stone logs and oak sleeper crossings.

These improvements collectively ensured the Bog Garden continued to thrive as a peaceful and accessible retreat, bolstering its role as a key feature within one of London’s most cherished woodland gardens for visitors.
