Railway Infrastructure Case Study

Project: Park Hill Tunnel Waterproofing and Brickwork Repairs
Client: Transport for London / London Trams
Service: Rail Infrastructure

T Loughman & Co. Ltd was appointed as Principal Contractor to deliver specialist waterproofing and structural repairs within the 111-metre Park Hill Tunnel in Croydon.

The works addressed water ingress at 164 identified locations. Approximately two litres of resin was injected at each location at a controlled pressure of 4 bar. The wider scope included brickwork repointing and stitching repairs, vegetation removal and associated access works.

The project was delivered within the operational tram environment under agreed possession and isolation arrangements. High-level areas were accessed using MEWPs, while personnel, equipment and materials were transported through the worksite using track trolleys.

Loughman coordinated its own workforce, specialist contractors and the London Trams Worksite Supervisor to deliver the works safely within the restricted tunnel environment.
